DVD Shrink Didn't Work? How to Rip Problem DVDs to DVD

DVD Shrink Didn't Work? How to Rip Problem DVDs to DVD

(Use this when the first DVD Shrink method fails)

One benefit to owning this product is that I will show you how to defeat new encryption methods as they come out. Not too long ago Sony created a new DVD Encryption called ARccOS. DVD Shrink (the program used to copy DVD to DVD) can't handle this new encryption. But we can get around that by using DVDFab Decrypter first, which can handle it.

I also suspect that Sony has just released another new form of copy protection on their most recent DVD's but this method should work for those as well. If you encounter a DVD you can't copy, let me know and I will try to find a way to do it.

Software Needed:

DVDFab Decrypter

Removing ARccOS Encryption with DVDFab Decrypter

Insert the DVD you want to copy, then run DVDfab Decrypter and you should see something like this:

As you can see under Target it will go to the DVDFab Folder in your My Documents Folder. You can change this if you want by click the "..." next to it. Otherwise just click the Start button in the lower right corner and it will begin ripping the DVD to the Target Folder. You should see something like this:

Just wait for it to finish, when it does a little window will pop up saying it is complete, click ok then exit DVDFab Decrypter and move on to the next step.

Copying the DVD with DVD Shrink and Burning it with DVD Decrypter

When DVD Decrypter finishes, take your DVD out and put a blank DVD-R Disc in. Now run DVD Shrink and you will see this:

Now click the Open Files Button and find the Folder (Target) where DVDFab Decrypter put the the movie files. Inside the DVDFab Folder you will see more folders, find the one with the title of your movie and click it, then click Open. It will analyze the DVD first then you should see something like this:

Notice the green bar at the top and how there is some red on the right side. The red means there too much to fit on a DVD-R Disc and you need to get rid of some stuff. First get rid of any audio or subpicture you don't want. Then if that isn't enough to get rid of the red, pick some special features you don't want and under video set them to Still Image.

Once you have a pure green bar, click "Backup!" and you will see this:

Set "Select backup target:" to "ISO Image File and Burn with DVD Decrypter" and click OK. DVD Shrink will then start working. When it's done, it will automatically load DVD Decrypter and start burning your new DVD. Let that finish and you're done.
