| How
to Copy Video Files to DVD-R Disc
In
this section you will learn how to put video files on DVD-R
Discs. These files could be Downloaded Movies, TV Shows, or
any other video. This only works with files that end in ".wmv"
or ".avi" so try to get video files in WMV, DivX,
or XviD format when you download them. A DVD-Burner is required
for this. If you have a CD-Burner and not a DVD-Burner, go
to the next section that deals with that.
Software Needed:
Avi2DVD

DVD
Decrypter - Click Here to Download and Install
Converting
Video Files to a DVD Image
First open AVI2DVD
and you should see something like this:

That might look
a little complicated but it's really pretty simple. You shouldn't
mess with any of this except to click one of the bottom options
if you want. One is Shutdown when done, which will turn your
computer off when it finishes. The other is Close Avi2DVD
when done, which will just close the program when it's done.
The last is Hide External Applications, which you should probably
just leave alone. None of them matter much but if you want
to use them it won't hurt anything.
All you really
have to do here is click "Load avi/ogm/mkv/wmv"
and then you should see this:

Just find the
file you want to put on a DVD and select it. You can repeat
the process if necessary to add more than one file. Once you
select the file, click open and it will automatically analyze
the video, then you will see something like this:

Same thing as
before but it has filled in some of the information based
on the file you selected. Now just click "Step 2 Output"
and you should see this:

You should leave
most of this alone. There is an option for DVD/SVCD or VCD.
Leave DVD checked because you want to make a DVD and not a
VCD. If you are burning a Dual Layer DVD you can change it
to that by selecting it under Choose Disk Size. The main things
here are Chapters and where the file is going. You can probably
just leave the Destination (where it's going) alone, but you
should remember it so you can find it later. Under Chapters
you select how often you want it to make a new chapter. I
suggest you set this at either 5 or 10 minutes.
Once you are done
here, click "Step 3 Encoders" and you should see
this:

Select HCEnc like
I have above, then for Profile select Best. Once you have
done that click "Step 5 DVD Menu" and you should
see this:

This is too complicated
to cover here but feel free to mess with it if you have time.
You can click Capture Images and then save a background image
from the Video to use on your menu. Then you can convert a
MP3 file to MP2 so you can have it play in the background
on your menu. And the final option is Create DVD Menu, which
is where it gets a little complicated. There's some help on
the right side, and you can probably figure this out with
some time, but since it's just for the menu and it's not necessary,
I prefer to skip it.
Once you're done
here click "Add Job" and you will see this:

Same thing except
on the bottom right under Job Queue it lists the Job. Now
click "GO!!!" and you will see this:

Click PROCEED
and you should see a black window pop up and start doing all
kinds of crazy stuff. Don't worry this is normal. Just wait,
it is splitting the file up into chapters and then converting
them to DVD format. This could take a while, so feel free
to go do something else while it works.
After it's done
on the black screen you will see this:

Nothing to do
here, just wait until it finishes. If you absolutely must
stop it, you can either suspend it temporarily or click exit
to cancel it. This could take several hours, and possibly
as much as 5 hours depending on your computer.
Burning the
DVD
Once it's done
close Avi2DVD and go find the files it made.
The folder will
look something like this:

I circled the
file we want in the picture above. Make sure you have a blank
DVD in the drive then right click the file and select "Burn
using DVD Decrypter". When you do that you should see
something similar to this:

Click
the circled button and it will begin burning your new DVD.
Just wait until it's finished and you're done creating your
DVD. It will play in any DVD player but the quality will be
slightly lower than a normal DVD.
