| How
to Copy Video Files to CD-R Discs
In
this section you will learn how to copy video files to CD-R
Discs. These files could be Downloaded Movies, TV Shows, or
any other video. This only works with files that end in ".wmv"
or ".avi" so try to get video files in WMV, DivX,
or XviD format when you download them. A CD-Burner is required
for this. If you have a DVD-Burner and not a CD-Burner, go
to the section that deals with that.
Software Needed:
Avi2DVD
- Click Here to Download and Install
DVD
Decrypter - Click Here to Download and Install
Converting
Video Files to VCD Format
First open AVI2DVD
and you should see something like this:

That might look
a little complicated but it's really pretty simple. You shouldn't
mess with any of this except to click one of the bottom options
if you want. One is Shutdown when done, which will turn your
computer off when it finishes. The other is Close Avi2DVD
when done, which will just close the program when it's done.
The last is Hide External Applications, which you should probably
just leave alone. None of them matter much but if you want
to use them it won't hurt anything.
All you really
have to do here is click "Load avi/ogm/mkv/wmv"
and then you should see something similar to this:

Just find the
file you want to put on a CD and select it. You can repeat
the process if necessary to add more than one file. Once you
select the file, click open and it will automatically analyze
the video, then you will see something like this:

Same thing as
before but it has filled in some of the information based
on the file you selected. Now just click "Step 2 Output"
and you should see this:

You
should leave most of this alone. There is an option for DVD/SVCD
or VCD. Check VCD because you want to make a VCD and not a
DVD. Make sure you select your Disc Size, Check Make Cue/Bin,
and remember where it's going by looking at the destination
on the bottom. Once you've finished here click "Step
3 Encoders" and you will see this:

Select
QuEnc, it produces good quality video, if you want the best
quality video at the expense of time, choose NuEnc, then set
it to 2 passes. If you want to play with creating your own
menu you can go to Step 5 and do that there. It's not necessary
though and I usually don't mess with it.
Now
click Add Job, then click GO !!! and it will start working.
You'll see all kinds of different windows and programs working,
that's normal, just wait until it's done.
Burning the
VCD
Now
that we have the video file(s) in VCD format we can burn it
to CD-R Discs. First insert a blank CD-R Disc, then run DVD
Decrypter and you should see something like this:

You
might see something a little different, so make sure you click
Mode, ISO, then Write like I did above. Now it should look
like this:

Now
click the little folder circled in the above picture and find
where you saved the files in the previous section. Depending
on how much video you're doing there may be 1 or more files
that end with ".bin". You must burn each bin file
you created. Once you have selected one you will see something
like this:

Click
the circled button and it will begin burning your CD-R. Just
wait until it's finished then if there was more than one bin
file, repeat the process for each one. You new CD-R Should
play in virtually any DVD Player.
